This custom project for a confidential client was designed with SBLD Studio. Inspired by our Marbles which can be seen in a customized form in other projects like Bacardi headquarters with IA Architects, or Advent Health with Stantec, this design was a modernist take that reflected balance and movement as the key design elements. Each of the Marble lights was strategically placed between a wooden slated ceiling to create to create an undulating movement that wowed from above or below upon entering the lobby of this multinational company. The resulting effect is a feeling of sleek sophistication.

Well well well, look HUE it is! One of our favorite chandeliers in Interior Design Magazine's Spring Market Tabloid. The Cut Outs is an imaginative acrylic chandelier that takes inspiration from the works of Calder, Miro, and the wild artistic inspiration that can be seen on the streets and in the architecture of cities like New York, Milan, and others. Built with acrylic pieces in primary colors, The Cut Outs can always be customized to create a signature look. Color, shapes, and materials are all open to interpretation. Perhaps a mirrored or metallic version of this piece? Maybe you need it in neutral or jewel tones? Looking to remove or add more lighting? We can do it all! METAL SCREENS WITH ACRYLIC INLAY - THE SPROUTS SCREEN
YGD's screens refuse to let the functional brush aside form. While our world is changing, YGD’s design philosophy is not - make it relevant, beautiful, and unique. 4 new designs showcase how you can use our acrylic and metal screens to create separated spaces while still defining great design. Above you’ll see our Sprouts Screen forging new terrain in a dining area. A laser-cut pop of color with acrylic inlay means that customers can be protected in public areas while also keeping it visually interesting.

The theme of connectivity and coming together as a unit plays a central theme in this workplace piece for Samsung Dallas Headquarters. Detailed in our proposal to design partner HLW International as a "messy stream of light, reflections and color, each element with its own direction and material creating a beautiful stream through the architectural space" this custom "Galaxy Stream" piece was inspired by the ethos of Samsung as well as their signature brand colors and products.
Samsung wanted the fixture to resonate with their brand aesthetic. "Samsung" means 3 stars in Korean. Seeking a balance between an abstract and literal interpretation of this concept, YGD was asked to get creative and we set to work creating options. A variety of space-based options were presented but ultimately the "galaxy" option was the most far out.
The fixture was more sculptural and less dependent on lighting. A digital screen placed directly behind the piece which added the additional design challenge of maintaining negative space to see the screen while also have the sculpture visible from several vantage points.

Safina’s private dining room, within the InterContinental Houston Hotel at Texas Medical Center, showcases YGD’s “Sunlight on a Cloudy Evening” light sculpture. It houses major companies and offer amenities such as a light rail shuttle and rotating food trucks. 701 Carlson is an architecturally engagingly multi-tenant property west of Minneapolis. Adorned with walking trails, gardens, and a lake in the exterior it seems only right that the interior is equally defined by luxury. This custom rod piece for RSP Architects at Carlson Tower is made up of nearly 2500 powder-coated tubes. We built this bit of architectural eye candy to immediately engage workers and clients in the lobby of the building.
The rods are a high shine prismatic metallic which reflects the downlights. An initial prototype was built for this piece to confirm spacing and design specs for RSP.

Located in the heart of downtown Nicollet Mall this new multi-res high rise was built to take full advantage of the views, dining, and shopping experiences Minneapolis offers. This custom piece was built to hang in the lobby of the residential tower at 365 Nicollet and is a unique sculpture that reflects the pristine and modern look of the space. Steel rods were welded together and strung with steel cable from mirror composite ceiling discs to create a geometric jumble of shapes that speaks order to chaos.

Managing money means being flexible so it's no wonder the shape of the parallelogram was used to reflect the adaptive culture of Baird Asset Management in NYC. It’s also no surprise that Gensler NY was the design firm of choice for their tricky workplace lobby space. The unique length of the room required flexibility and a little ingenuity to create a piece that maintained Gensler's high design standards while also filling up the length of the room. Yellow Goat's custom Cirrus fixture is a key player in adapting to the demanding shape and also reflecting the client’s key request that the fixture artistically reflect the parallelogram look of Baird’s logo without being too literal. Gensler worked directly with YGD to fulfill both requests…

Project: American Kennel Club, Museum of the Dog
Designed by Gensler NYC
Fabricated by Yellow Goat Design
Anything is PAWSIBLE in New York City, including the opening of a brand new dazzling museum devoted entirely to DOGS! The American Kennel Club's Museum of the Dog has relocated to a prime spot at 101 Park Ave in New York City and Yellow Goat Design has a prominently placed "doggie in the window" for all of NYC to see! Working with Gensler NYC on the design, Yellow Goat and Gensler went through several iterations (including mesh and metal rods) before settling on the iconic wireframe pup you see placed strategically at the forefront of the museum. The dog’s position gazing out of the window represents both the nature of dogs and stands as a beacon welcoming visitors to the museum. The powder coated frame can be lit with LED's to change the color and the mood (just like the empire state building!)

Problem spaces. We all know them and we all...well....avoid them. In the case of Hoyts cinema located in New Zealand, at the Westfield Riccarton shopping center, Yellow Goat took one problem space from frustrating to fantasy with a little ingenuity and a green (and gold) thumb. Aptly called our 'Field of Dreams,' our Design Director, Jerzy, collaborated with Lume Design (a long-time friend and client) to create a garden in the sky.
Designed by Jerzy to reflect Christchurch's history of greenery, water and flowers, the piece also draws focus to the theater's entryway and creates a space where people will come - again and again.
