This custom project for a confidential client was designed with SBLD Studio. Inspired by our Marbles which can be seen in a customized form in other projects like Bacardi headquarters with IA Architects, or Advent Health with Stantec, this design was a modernist take that reflected balance and movement as the key design elements. Each of the Marble lights was strategically placed between a wooden slated ceiling to create to create an undulating movement that wowed from above or below upon entering the lobby of this multinational company. The resulting effect is a feeling of sleek sophistication.

The theme of connectivity and coming together as a unit plays a central theme in this workplace piece for Samsung Dallas Headquarters. Detailed in our proposal to design partner HLW International as a "messy stream of light, reflections and color, each element with its own direction and material creating a beautiful stream through the architectural space" this custom "Galaxy Stream" piece was inspired by the ethos of Samsung as well as their signature brand colors and products.
Samsung wanted the fixture to resonate with their brand aesthetic. "Samsung" means 3 stars in Korean. Seeking a balance between an abstract and literal interpretation of this concept, YGD was asked to get creative and we set to work creating options. A variety of space-based options were presented but ultimately the "galaxy" option was the most far out.
The fixture was more sculptural and less dependent on lighting. A digital screen placed directly behind the piece which added the additional design challenge of maintaining negative space to see the screen while also have the sculpture visible from several vantage points.

Inova Corporate Center in Denver was a hot property that came on the market. Formerly known as Dry Creek Corporate Center, it was purchased and rebranded as Inova Dry Creek. It houses major companies and offer amenities such as a light rail shuttle and rotating food trucks. We worked with Waring Associates to produce one of our signature designs, Trapeze 3.0, for the lobby space. 701 Carlson is an architecturally engagingly multi-tenant property west of Minneapolis. Adorned with walking trails, gardens, and a lake in the exterior it seems only right that the interior is equally defined by luxury. This custom rod piece for RSP Architects at Carlson Tower is made up of nearly 2500 powder-coated tubes. We built this bit of architectural eye candy to immediately engage workers and clients in the lobby of the building.
The rods are a high shine prismatic metallic which reflects the downlights. An initial prototype was built for this piece to confirm spacing and design specs for RSP.

Located in the heart of downtown Nicollet Mall this new multi-res high rise was built to take full advantage of the views, dining, and shopping experiences Minneapolis offers. This custom piece was built to hang in the lobby of the residential tower at 365 Nicollet and is a unique sculpture that reflects the pristine and modern look of the space. Steel rods were welded together and strung with steel cable from mirror composite ceiling discs to create a geometric jumble of shapes that speaks order to chaos.

Managing money means being flexible so it's no wonder the shape of the parallelogram was used to reflect the adaptive culture of Baird Asset Management in NYC. It’s also no surprise that Gensler NY was the design firm of choice for their tricky workplace lobby space. The unique length of the room required flexibility and a little ingenuity to create a piece that maintained Gensler's high design standards while also filling up the length of the room. Yellow Goat's custom Cirrus fixture is a key player in adapting to the demanding shape and also reflecting the client’s key request that the fixture artistically reflect the parallelogram look of Baird’s logo without being too literal. Gensler worked directly with YGD to fulfill both requests…

A Little Magic was involved in creating these fixtures for Pimco in Washington, DC. They may look like your everyday design at first glance but when you reach the right angle...ta da! You’ll see the floor number magically appear in gold! Working with Wright Heerema Architects we created golden rods surrounded by suspended crystals creating the illusion of a waterfall and topped off with a mirror composite ceiling plate. See the magic happen in the video below....
