Managing money means being flexible so it's no wonder the shape of the parallelogram was used to reflect the adaptive culture of Baird Asset Management in NYC. It’s also no surprise that Gensler NY was the design firm of choice for their tricky workplace lobby space. The unique length of the room required flexibility and a little ingenuity to create a piece that maintained Gensler's high design standards while also filling up the length of the room. Yellow Goat's custom Cirrus fixture is a key player in adapting to the demanding shape and also reflecting the client’s key request that the fixture artistically reflect the parallelogram look of Baird’s logo without being too literal. Gensler worked directly with YGD to fulfill both requests…

Project: American Kennel Club, Museum of the Dog
Designed by Gensler NYC
Fabricated by Yellow Goat Design
Anything is PAWSIBLE in New York City, including the opening of a brand new dazzling museum devoted entirely to DOGS! The American Kennel Club's Museum of the Dog has relocated to a prime spot at 101 Park Ave in New York City and Yellow Goat Design has a prominently placed "doggie in the window" for all of NYC to see! Working with Gensler NYC on the design, Yellow Goat and Gensler went through several iterations (including mesh and metal rods) before settling on the iconic wireframe pup you see placed strategically at the forefront of the museum. The dog’s position gazing out of the window represents both the nature of dogs and stands as a beacon welcoming visitors to the museum. The powder coated frame can be lit with LED's to change the color and the mood (just like the empire state building!)

Very excited to be featured in two recent articles in Restaurant D+D. The first feature is in a product guide to lighting with insights from Cooper Carry's Principal & Lighting Designer Anita Summers. This piece features our 90 Degrees light, a futuristic take on a distant galaxy. Our (E=) is featured in Restaurant D+D's solution center and easily solves the problem of great lighting design.

A Little Magic was involved in creating these fixtures for Pimco in Washington, DC. They may look like your everyday design at first glance but when you reach the right angle...ta da! You’ll see the floor number magically appear in gold! Working with Wright Heerema Architects we created golden rods surrounded by suspended crystals creating the illusion of a waterfall and topped off with a mirror composite ceiling plate. See the magic happen in the video below....

Problem spaces. We all know them and we all...well....avoid them. In the case of Hoyts cinema located in New Zealand, at the Westfield Riccarton shopping center, Yellow Goat took one problem space from frustrating to fantasy with a little ingenuity and a green (and gold) thumb. Aptly called our 'Field of Dreams,' our Design Director, Jerzy, collaborated with Lume Design (a long-time friend and client) to create a garden in the sky.
Designed by Jerzy to reflect Christchurch's history of greenery, water and flowers, the piece also draws focus to the theater's entryway and creates a space where people will come - again and again.
